I was first introduced to Dianetics and Scientology in 1978 while I was studying Philosophy at Georgetown University. For most of my life I had been searching for some direction in life which would give meaning and purpose to how I lived and what I did with my life. Though I studied both the ancient and modern philosophers none gave a method which others could easily follow.

      When I read Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health I immediately knew I had found a workable method to both better myself and others. The next week I was introduced to Scientology which gave me my greatest successes. The first success I had with Scientology was in L. Ron Hubbard’s Study Technology. Though I had written a thesis on teaching philosophies I had not been satisfied with any of the methods I had found – and there weren’t many. Hubbard ’s method gives you the precise barriers to study and the correct way to learn how to know. This, of course, is one of the secrets man has been searching for for ages. And now I know this secret. And the word “Scientology” means “knowing how to know”.

     That first success gave me the ability to learn any subject that I put my mind to. Isn’t that what education was supposed to do?
